Jeff Okello became Executive Director of The Health Support Organisation (THESO) in 2008 after long years of work with MSF and IFRC, Jeff founded THESO with his childhood desire to save lives. His dream was borne out of the pain of losing his younger brother to Meningitis during the Sudan civil war in early 1990s. Under his leadership, The Health Support Organisation (THESO) grew up very fast and has developed a focus on Health, WASH and malnutrition, the tackling of which is at the heart of addressing lack of access to healthcare and clean water and sanitation. Driven by his experience of working in other countries with MSF, IFRC among others in emergency contexts in Uganda, DR. Congo, Somalia, Chad and Sudan, Jeff is also committed to ensuring that the organisation plays a key role in responding to those who are worst affected by the increasing number and scale of humanitarian crises. A qualified medical doctor by training, Jeff has previously worked in various position such as medical supervisor, Health Manager, Health Programme Manager among others. Jeff is currently on the Board of Directors and also on Health and Nutrition Board. Jeff is committedly working with likeminded individuals, groups and institution to build health communities through providing integrated healthcare, nutrition services and safe clean water and sanitation services to underserved populations.
